Dear Lord, we pray for our world. May the fighting in our world stop so we can all be at peace.
Lord hear us.
Dear Lord, we pray for the church. May all the church keep spreading the good news.
Lord hear us.
Dear Lord, we pray for all the grandparents of the world. May they all be loved.
Lord hear us.
Dear Lord, we pray for our community. May we all have a safe place to live.
Lord hear us.
Dear Lord, we pray for our school. May we all have a safe holidays.
Lord hear us.

Mystery Creek
"Hello, everyone. Welcome to Mystery Creek, which is home to some mysterious mysteries." Allan tried to say in a spooky voice. It didn't spook us at all. In fact, it made us all laugh into tears but soon we all got over it and went inside to listen to the story about how Mystery Creek got its name. I know what you're thinking but I'm not going to tell you that story till another day, so here's the story of what we did.
First, we did an object search all over the olden day village. We got to go into the dairy factory, the church, the hospital, the school, the garage and the black-smiths and there was a jail, but we didn't get to go in there until after. In all of those places, we learnt a lot and, in the school, we learnt that the dentist was right next to the school and the kids used to call it the murder house so, when they had to go to the dentist, they hid in the bushes and the teachers had to grab them by their ears and drag them to it.
We also learnt that, in olden days, girls had to dress in blouses and bonnets and maybe some leggings, and the boys had to wear long sleeved t-shirts even if they were too big because they were hand-me-downs but they did really care and they also wore hats.

Alison Shanks
Today, Alison Shanks visited us at school. She told us that she had to watch the 50 second countdown. The reason for that was because it made her nervous. She showed us her dazzling dark black bike and she showed us that her bike was as light as a feather. The wheels of her cycling bike were all covered in so that she could ride faster. She also showed us the correct position when you ride a cycling bike. She showed us her cycling uniform. It was black with a white fern and about her helmet, she said, ''The smoother the helmet, the faster you glide.''
She got Jacinta to wear both then she chose volunteers to fold the flag. She told us that they the key to success is not by just training your body but your mind as well. She also told us that 30% of people achieve their personal best.

A Matariki Story
Once long, long ago lived seven
little tui. They were playing outside and their mother said to stay near
the tree so when it was dark they wouldn't get lost.
One
day, they weren't as close to the house as they
normally were and, when the sun fell, the moon started to rise. The moon wasn't
shining as bright as the sun normally did, but it shone like the glistening
sea's edge on a great winter's night. Owls hooting filled the night then
the seven little tui showed goosebumps as they became more frightened through
the night.
It got darker and darker and colder and colder then soon all the
tui drifted off to sleep.
In the morning, they weren't in the forest anymore. All they saw
was the moon and the stars because the moon had taken them up into the sky
during their sleep. The moon used its special powers to take kids who didn't
listen to their parents and turn them into stars.
That is how Matariki came to be.
